Who can join Pear?

Pear is designed for ex-top-tier consultants (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, LEK, etc.) and other top-tier independent consultants with strong operator backgrounds.

Do I have to pay to sign up?

No, there is no joining fees and no ongoing fees either. Our business model relies on being paid by clients, not consultants.

How long does it take to get accepted on the platform after I sign up?

We commit to vetting and verifying all new sign-ups within 24 hours.

Can I use my Pear credentials outside the platform?

Absolutely. Your Pear-Verified referrals are portable. You can share a credential link anywhere - LinkedIn, proposals, direct client conversations.

What kind of work do you place consultants on?

Typical Strategy, Transformation and strategic execution type of work that you would have done in your previous consulting firm.

How does matching work?

We match based on your skills, your project preferences and fit: problem type, seniority expectations, industry context, working style, timeframe, fees expectation and availability. You only get approached for roles we think fit your experience and preferences or are within a reasonable margin of trade-offs as described by you.

Do I have to accept opportunities you send?

No. You're always in control. You can decline any intro, pause your availability, or set preferences to reduce noise.

What day rates should I set?

We encourage you to set rate ranges based on our pre-define guided scenarios. We'll sanity-check it against market norms for your seniority and the type of work and share guidance so you price confidently without underselling.

What's your fee - do you take a cut of my rate?

Pear charges a mark-up to the client based on the engagement structure, but the goal always is: clear economics, no surprises. The entire project economics is visible to all parties, including you, at all times. And we want you to get paid more - the more you get paid, the more Pear is paid.

When and how do I get paid?

Standard terms are typically monthly or fortnightly invoicing with payment on agreed terms (e.g., 7–14 days) depending on client setup. You'll know the exact payment terms before you start.

Do you handle contracts and paperwork?

Yes. We provide a standard engagement contract / SOW and handle the admin so you don't spend hours on back-and-forth. If a client needs their own paper, we'll coordinate it.

Can I work through my own company/trust?

Yes - most consultants do. To maximise your net payment, minimise risks, and get you higher up in the preferences, we encourage you to use your own Pty Ltd/ ABN.

Do you require exclusivity?

No. You can keep doing your own sourcing and working with other channels. Pear should be additive, not restrictive.

Can I do part-time (e.g., 2–3 days/week)?

Yes, where the role allows it. Set your availability and preferred cadence; we'll only match you to briefs that fit.

What if I'm currently on a project but coming free soon?

Perfect - set your "available from" date. We can send you a pipeline opportunities ahead of time so you don't have gaps.

What happens if the engagement isn't a fit?

We want a high-quality experience for both sides. If it's not working, we step in early to diagnose and fix it - and if needed, we'll replace you on the project with minimal disruption.

Will I get feedback after each engagement?

Yes - this is a core part of Pear. We run lightweight feedback loops so you get clear signals to improve and build a stronger track record over time.

How do you protect my profile and data?

We don't share your CV around. We only share your CV information and identity with a client when there's a relevant opportunity and you're aligned to be introduced.

Who do I talk to if I need help mid-engagement?

You'll have a real point of contact at Pear - not just a platform inbox - for support on scope clarity, stakeholder issues, or delivery risks.
